By Remy Ilona  From .. to 1966 Igbos thought that every corner of British constructed Nigeria was home. By May of 1966 Igbos were forced to flee to what was their real home, with nothing, some with major wounds, and with hundreds of thousands murdered. By 1970 Igbos went back to the same places they were expelled from.  Necessary, because they had to earn a living, but is it necessary for Igbos who became rich through hardwork, and luck, to build the most expensive residential buildings in the very lands they were expelled from? To me no matter the wealth of an Igbo outside Igboland, a 4-5-6 bedroom bungalow will suffice. I don't know why our people still don't see the obvious. No native people are happy to see foreigners living like kings while they are poor in their own land. Maybe Igbos don't know that in Nigeria they are foreigners outside Igboland. The fact is more important than the law in societies that the law is observed in the breach.

They overlook it's Omenana that'll provide Igbo sense.. .. and I don't know how you can have good economy, secure society, etc, without Igbo sense.  I have been asked how Omenana can tar roads by Igbos who have no idea that you need Igbo or common sense to know it's better to use public funds to tar roads than to steal it and bank it offshore somewhere.

Africa has hundreds of Nations, each with its own peculiar food or borrowed food. A nation's food is a product of the nation's material existentialism and historicism over centuries or millenials. A nation's food is contributory to that nation's specificities, including physical appearance and even longevity. Every Nation has its own food. No Nation's food is 'better'. Every nation's food is 'good'.   Igbo food is not 'better' food but food peculiar to the Igbo and Ala-IGBO.  As Igbo, promote Igbo food as Igbo food. Do not appropriate Igbo foods to 'African' (what ever that means). It could signal intention to 'dominate' which may fuel Igbophobia or to lose as we have become accustomed to being losers.

Lamenting about biological & cultural genocides in Biafra, which he visited he observed that Ibos were pan Africanists: in my words dreamers who thought about how all Africans would be healed: an unreciprocated thought because in the time of need only 5 African leaders cared enough. I called Haiti African. But were Igbos only and simply just pan Africanists? I see something bigger. They thought about human good. When Israelis were oppressed and sidelined in post independence Nigeria Igbos took their side. Yes, the Igbos identified as Israelites, but they could have ignored the plight of the Israelis and chosen to maintain excellent relations with fellow Nigerians. And when the monster Hitler rose, Zik fought him as Zik fought colonialism. So much is hiding in books, articles and libraries.

By Remy Ilona  Asserting Igbos Israelite identity has not earned Igbos (as a nation) any gain from non-Igbo sources, and I do not expect any external source to baby-sit and nurse-maid at least 50m souls-counting only Igbos who have umunna in Igboland today.  Why the assertion which some of the world's greatest statesmen like Henry Kissinger had engaged in before I was born? Quoting him: "The Ibos are the wandering Jews of West Africa." Why the assertion? Why all the effort to keep the heritage alive? Without it Igbos will not take Omenana serious. Without Omenana Igbos will end up a footnote in history. Without Omenana Igbos have forgotten CHI UKWU and His covenant with them. Accordingly you find Igbos wanting the best out of life but being afraid of accepting that they, Igbo men and women, are as Israelites the first son of God. The same FEAR stops them from seeing God (CHI UKWU) saying they are His begotten child in Deuteronomy 32.

Igbos must stop appropriating Igbo spirituality to 'African' (what ever that means). Africa consists of hundreds of Nations. Each Nation has its own spirituality or a borrowed one. Each Nations spirituality is a product of each Nations spiritual existentiality. For a spirituality to be Authentic Igbo, it must be in conformity or not in conflict with the Hebrew /Igbo Bible.  When you as Igbo advertise Igbo spirituality as 'African' spirituality, you are supporting the claim that you want to dominate them. With a population of 100-150 million, Igbo is enough.

By Remy Ilona  Recently I had to tell people that I don't see any kind of evidence behind: Israelites were Canaanites. I wasn't presented with any that would make me to think that what the Book of Genesis says about both groups should be discarded. Also importantly, the Bible is not about stories of long dead people to me & people like me. If I feel challenged about certain aspects of life: like the one Saul faced before he became king, I would do exactly what he did: go to a dibia. Igbos largely still live in the culture of the Bible, & we know Canaanite, Egyptian, Idumean, ancient Arab etc cultures, not because we read about them but because they are our neighbors in Nigeria. Archaeologists should continue striving to understand ancient Israel, but when they want to really understand it they will begin to study Omenana.

And to these wise words I add, 'we must speak against evil by Igbos, and begin to study and do Omenana. Only Omenana will force an Igbo to avoid and shun evil and sin.' My siblings children are my children 100% We left Omenana and have effectively become like the nations that's why we have things like orphanages, beggars, etc, that CHI UKWU gave us tools to ensure we never have. Umunna and ime nne (family and extended family) must be derelict for an Igbo child to be raised by strangers. CHI UKWU didn't tell us in Omenana or the Bible to invent how to follow, serve Him. He made the choice for us and we agreed that it's only through Omenana we can serve Him. In doubt? Of course you neither read nor understand the Bible so you don't see Omugwo in the Bible, just as you don't see that you as an Israelite are CHI UKWU'S 1st son according to the Bible.
