LOOKING AT YORUBA LOOK AT IGBO AND JEWISH HISTORY

Image
By Remy Ilona I woke up to see that a colleague tagged my name to a matter that I had addressed definitively. Ooni of Ife, one of the premier kings of the great Yoruba people, one of the gods of Yorubaland by Yoruba beliefs, had noted in a video which went viral, that the Jews are descendants of the Igbos. He also noted that Igbos had lived in Ife, Yorubaland. What his majesty said caused a furor in Nigeria when he made the statement. It did because it went against many things that many people assumed. Also many people including Ooni himself did not fully understand everything that he said. Yorubas, the people that Ooni is one of their deities have a religious belief that all life, all humans, began at Ile Ife, Yorubaland. Ooni, a believer in this Yoruba myth of origins simply assumed that as all humans, i.e., all Europeans, Asians and Africans "came from Ile Ife", that Igbos must have come from Ile Ife too. And how did he arrive at the conclusion that Jews are de...

Why Igbo Age grade system in Omenana?

Image
By Remy Ilona Why did CHI UKWU give & our forebears accept the tradition of 'age grade?' He gave and our wise ancestors accepted so that we'll be wise, and not be fools at 40. Ogbo onye nwuba onwu, m'obu nuba di/nwunye, onwu, inu di/nwunye aguba ya. Translation: if one's mates start dying, marrying, one would start hungering for death/marriage.

President Joe Biden ready to officially recognise the 1915 Armenian genocide.

Image
Happened in 1915 BUT just about to EARN it's RIGHTFUL name: I was minding my business this morning, thinking about the days tasks and listening to Phyno's 'Umuaka Highway' when CNN announced that President 'Not so sleepy' Joe Biden is preparing to declare the killing of more than ONE MILLION Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915 a GENOCIDE! Already some people in Turkey are sweating. The world should NOT exhibit selective Amnesia over GENOCIDES and forget the more RECENT Examples! All HOLOCAUSTS and GENOCIDES must be properly characterized and DOCUMENTED. There should be no cherry-picking. Virtually ALL genocides follow a pattern. The World MUST nip in the bud ALL potential genocides. Good morning ALL people of Good conscience.

How Omenana is liberating.

Image
By Remy Ilona Among the Igbos the person circumstances forced to become a refugee became a member of the Igbo priesthood. Yes the Osu became a part of the priests. CHI UKWU and Omenana elevated them by creating a position for them among those who served the community as priests. The traditional rulers, bishops, priests, pastors, activists pretending to ban Osu must humble themselves and go back to school. They are compounding a problem fostered by forgetfulness and imposition of a foreign religion. Omenana Defenders will accommodate them.

STILL ON IGBO CORPORATE DRESS

Image
By Remy Ilona STILL ON IGBO DRESS Many think that the European had always worn the business suit and accordingly think the Igbo people should wear wrappers and singlets in the 21st century, and be an object of mockery. That's your European in the early modern period. Use your tongue to count your teeth! The Igbo would never be a clown! He should dress as the figure below,Your own Remy Ilona

Want to learn Omenana? Approach Igbo elders over 90 years and Nz'rabbis.

Image
By Remy Ilona Nz'rabbis are Igbos who spent years studying Omenana, and related subjects. They also committed to live like Nze (Nazarites) used to live in older Igbo society. They must strive to live holy & righteous lives. By their strivings they force Igbos back to the higher standards of morality we were known for. Our tradition of nso (avoidance of eating of unclean things) is being strengthened, courtesy of our Nz'rabbis. As you can see Nz'rabbis are reviving the Nazarite tradition among us. I wondered why my maternal grandmother was so strong and holy-and realized why after my mother told me, 'Nne chiri ozo nine nwanyi na echi, gokwanu Mmuo ofuma', (Grandmother took all the Nazarite vows, and practiced Omenana fully). In addition to their job of studying with and guiding fellow Igbos on Omenana and the Hebrew Bible, they also advise on health related issues. And they lead by example. Every Nz'rabbi has a regular job.

Omenana is the best solution to Igbo problems

Image
By Remy Ilona Omenana is the best solution Trials are supposed to test, improve us. What are you learning from this quasi imprisonment which sadly may come with hunger, depression & worse for some? My biggest takeaway so far is that the system I have given up all comfort to see that its reinstated: Omenana is by far the best, and that systems we look longingly at are rather shallow. When we practiced Omenana everyone had farms in their compound. Everyone by law had land, through iketa ana obi. Even umu Nri (Levites) got portions from their hosts they transferred to their progeny.  I grew up spending many vacations with Nne (my grandmother). What I witnessed: Every morning this giant, a Nazirite btw, will go to work in her farms. Near her house, in the same compound, so she wouldn't have violated any shelter in place laws if she's with us today. Working: there was food, and busy-so depression was kept at bay. Now I can understand why she didn't break after 2 ...

THE IGBO CORPORATE WAY OF DRESSING

Image
By Remy Ilona EASIER TO CRITICIZE THAN TO CREATE  Most people are not, and will never be aware of the dangers facing Igbos. Dangers stemming from Igbo alienation from Igbo culture and religion. If you are alienated from Omenana, you are automatically without an identity, because no identity except the 'Igbo identity' will suit and fit you. With anything else you look like that bird that thinks itself a butterfly. Gladly, many wise Igbos have joined us in Omenana Defenders (OD) to fight for Igbo regeneration and survival.  How do you remain an Igbo in the 21st century, with Western culture's total  domination of the world? You need wisdom to negotiate this question. Of course you need hard work too.  Now why these? After you've worked hard and come up with things that work, what do you get? Recriminations, and attacks from people who never thought there was a problem, let alone think of solutions. As far as I know no Sikh would fly ...

How you as Igbo can begin restructuring today with what you have

Image
By Remy Ilona Are you Igbo? Begin restructuring today by ensuring that your tithe & offerings go to the maintenance of the poor elderly and orphans in your extended family.  Dear Igbo, this restructuring will be immediately transforming in Igbo society and will spur more reforms which will ultimately transform society outside the Igbo world. Our problem is that we don't want to change but we want things we don't control to change. We have some control over ourselves but we refuse to make changes which will benefit us. Meanwhile we dream that we can force something outside we don't control to change.

Omenala was a national revelation

Image
By Francis Duru  A NATIONAL REVELATION: Igbos should PAUSE and ask why whereas the Origins of MOST other religions are ASSOCIATED with ONE MAN or the OTHER, e.g: Christianity------Jesus Islam---------------Mohammed Buddhism--------Buddha Confucianism--------------Confucious Krishna Consciousness------Krishna Shintoism----------------------------Shinto Odu ifa---------------------------------Orunmila Igbos DO NOT link Omenala to any INDIVIDUAL  as the originator BECAUSE it is based on the NATIONAL REVELATION at Sinai: Deuteronomy 29:14 "(29:13) Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;" Deuteronomy 29:15 "(29:14) but with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day--" Tanakh Bible https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tanakh.bible The COVENANT (igbandu) is between G-d and  those Israelites who were physically present at Sinai that FATEFUL day and also those...

Igbos will understand themselves when they study Israelites.

Image
By Remy Ilona Igbos will only understand themselves, their fate which can yield glory or disaster, if they understand the Israelites. And to begin this journey of understanding self humility is a must. Drop your assumptions that you already know. Look at my timeline: at my exegesis on odum and agu. And at Hebrew as the parent language of Igbo. After you become humble, quiet, then reflectively begin to study the Hebrew Bible and Omenana. Fortunately CHI UKWU has raised a few Igbos who can teach and they charge NOTHING.

THE IGBO AND THE TIGER

Image
By Ike Chi-Ukwu Eluigwe Why I will not put my money down or take an oath (if I were the oath-swearing type) on the claim that our Igbo forebears never knew the tiger are these: 1) The cat family originated from Africa... even though it is said that the specie that became the tiger had already moved out of Africa before becoming the tiger. 2) Experts have no answers why tigers never returned to Africa. 3) Tigers can survive in Africa; whether it be in the rainforest, Savannah, mangroves or swamps. 4) Tigers have cohabited with other cats, including lions, in other locales; so, they did not avoid Africa because of competition... actually, Africa can provide for the cats than many other areas where the tiger is found. 5) Ancient peoples from all parts of the globe indulged themselves with exotic animals; the Bible even recorded the importation of such exotic animals into Israel. So, who says no tiger made it into Africa in same way? 6) The present Igbos are a product of severa...

Leopard isn't Agu in Igbo

Image
By Luke Chinwuba This may not be popular narrative but read it carefully! Leopard isn't Agu but the Igbo bible translation brought the confusion  Growing up we learn that  Lion is Agu Lioness is Odum  Odum dogburu agu  Yes!  Same with  Ram  - Ebule Sheep - Aturu Ishi gbaka aturu Ebule la azu - if ram see the madness of sheep , he will withdraw from the fight. Sheep has no horn but can head ram to death.   Lioness (Odum) kills lion in the battle!   We also have eji and eji abali .....etc all in the cat family (thats for another day) For clarity, Lion has been here in Igbo land  Agabaidu - Lion , the father of the jungle  Prov 30:30 Igbo eze have the answer!

UNDERSTANDING AGU AND ODUM

Image
By Remy Ilona Unnecessary debates and arguments and confusion come up when people don't know the root of things & refuse to listen to those who cared to research. AGU & ODUM CONTROVERSY Agu is the generic term for cats and other strong animals and not necessarily only a proper name for the leopard. This is why crocodile is Agu iyi, wall gecko, Agu uno, cheetah, agu owuru, etc. A strong man is agu. A strong woman is agu nwanyi. But you won't know the above if you have refused to think and understand that Igbo language is a child of another language, like Spanish is a child of Latin. Agu/gu/gur/ is a word for the big cats in the language of the Ibreu (Hebrews)-ancestors of modern Igbos. ODUM became a word for lion, just like okwute became another word for stone/rock, crowding out the original word nzu-which is still what it is in the parent language: zu.zu is Hebrew for stone, rock, which all derived from the same source nzu comes from. I have been begging my ...

ANNUAL IKEJI FESTIVAL

Image
By Francis Duru This is one of the Major festivals in Igbo land carried out by the Arondizuogu people of Imo State annually in March or April. During this celebration there is a massive return of people to the community from around the world.   The 2021 edition started on the 8th of April and ended 3 days later on the 11th. It's a 4 day celebration of Igbo culture marked with Traditional Igbo Thanksgiving, peace offerings and colourful display by assorted masquerades to entertain the teeming crowd of returnees to the community.  Usually scheduled every year to span through the 4 Igbo market days of Eke, Orie, Afo and Nkwo. The main goal is to mark the Harvest of New yams, the chief food crop BUT is also an avenue for the People to UNITE and plan community development projects. Caroline Rozentvaig

OMENALA AND THE IGBO SOCIETY

Image
By Chioma Onyeoziri When a society begins to place hierarchy, Social strata and class amongst its members, inequality sets in. I mean when some members of the society begins to see themselves as upper class and their kindred as of a lower status. This is why Chiukwu frowns at the idea of Kingship, No Israelite is above or king over his brother. Kingship was alien to Israel's society until latter times as a result of their rebellion they wanted to assimilate, they wanted to be like their neighbours. The former Igbo society i mean the precolonial one was purely torah driven she had a strong disdain for kingship this is even reflected in the names we bear Eze bu iro(kingship is enmity) There is even a general Igbo slogan Igbo ewegi Eze (Igbo's do not have kings). Wow Igbo's are Israel, the evidence are so glaring. I'm marveled at the pictures unfolding. An ideal society is an egalitarian one void of social distinctions with equity and justice. Chiukwu is disgus...

Why Igbo didn't re-create the German miracle.

By Remy Ilona IGBOLAND & DEUTSCHLAND By 1945 Germany was in ruins, but within 2 decades it had become Europe's strongest economy. Why? Basic German culture which produces hard work ethic survived the near destruction of Deutschland. Igboland/people collapsed by 1980, because by then Igbos didn't know whether they should be Igbo or Nigerians culturally. To be Nigerians culturally won. Proof? A people who had zero kings in 1970, invented 800 by 1980-to be like Nigerians. This wasn't enough. They invented eze Igbo (igbo kings in exile). Many discarded the simple smart jumper of the Igbo & began to wear flowing gowns, after the fashion of Nigerians, and more. As you could see while Germany simply resumed its march to greatness, Igbos decided to abandon egalitarianism and become backward. Fortunately by 1990 Omenana Defenders was born and 2/4/7 since then it has been working to return Igbos to that culture which ensured Igboland had no prostitutes and destitutes when Eng...

WRONG THINKING OVER THE YEARS AND RUINS

Image
BY Remy Ilona As I read Mr. Bolaji Akinyemi's position that only Nigeria can become a great African country because of its population I shook my head in sadness. I was sad that people who don't know much about the world ruled Nig-er-ia and ruined it. Population alone cannot make any country great. Comparatively the US which is the world's greatest country isn't a very populous country. It's nowhere near to India and China in population. I checked GDPs of some countries. Japan, another small country comparatively, is a 5 plus trillion $ economy. This man, a professor, was foreign affairs minister. Many believe he's very smart. I was also sad because of his position that further strengthens marginalization of peoples who are Africans presently. Those peoples are just humans like Europeans and Asians and Americans. If an African state isn't ready to compete for greatness with powers everywhere in the world it's not ready for greatness. Africans ...

Omenana produced the world's most advanced civilization.

Image
By Remy Ilona If you are not careful and intelligent you would be convinced that ugly is beautiful. Igbo civilization was described as backward by colonial 'experts' because Igbos didn't destroy peoples to create empires, and kingdoms. Peoples whose 'sports' involved deaths & grievous injuries were described as advanced civilizations: in Africa and Europe, because they murdered millions and established empires and kingdoms. Igbo wrestling was or is our most dangerous sport & no one was hurt while engaging in it. Omenana produced the world's most advanced civilization!

How you as an Igbo man can earn respect from the Igbo society

Image
By  Remy Ilona If you are a man but have not married, you are not respected in Igbo society. Why? Your kinsmen want you to be married, so that you'll have children, and have a stake in health and survival of the society. If you are Igbo, 60 years, but you don't have children, why should you care, if in 40 years, after you are likely gone, invaders come in and seize all of Igboland? Above is a major reason why unmarried Igbo men were mocked at umunna, when Igbos still cared about their society!

WHY IGBOS RESISTED BRITAIN FOR 33 YEARS

Image
By Remy Ilona For reasons I wouldn't go into we have invested little in important research. We know that Igbo society 100 years ago was far stronger than it is today. Igbos generally adhered to one religion, and assimilation of enervating foreign ideas and practices was minimal, but what specifically enabled Igbos to resist British aggression for 33 years?  THERE WERE NO KINGS. Had political & other authorities been centralized Britain would have simply won by beheading that authority. It's easier to kill 1 leader than to kill 5000 leaders.

OMENALA=DERECH ERETZ

Image
OMENALA = DERECH ERETZ Omenala is distilled from THREE Igbo words (Ome na ala) and is the Igbo translation  of Deuteronomy 6:1. It means 'what is done in the land'. The Jews call Omenala 'Derech Eretz' (The way of the land).   Owning the land is contingent upon following the Prescription for the land. Its like customized or personalized medicine which works best for an individual. If the prescription is NOT followed our ownership of the land becomes TENUOUS and as the scripture said: "The land would VOMIT you". Enemies would put their attention on the land and herd you into labour camps.

How the Igbo can keep the land( Ala Igbo)

Image
By Chioma Onyeoziri The earth is Chiukwu's and its fullness thereof. The land Igbo's are occupying belongs to Chiukwu, we are only tenants and our right to tenancy is conditional . What is that condition? That we do Chiukwu's commandments in the land. Land signifies settlement. No one can serve Chiukwu properly in a nomadic state. You need a place of abode to serve Chiukwu - this is why he gave us ala Igbo so we can settle down and worship him. Also the land itself becomes an instrument  through which we serve Chiukwu  Nonetheless, our tenancy in the Land is conditional. The Land is gifted to Igbo's with the provision that they live up to certain moral and religious standards. Exile is threatened if these conditions are not met. Landlord has the right to evict you from his house if you abuse or defile it. This is why Igbo's are aware that unseeming behaviours defiles or contradicts the condition of being in the land and that could possibly lead to loss o...
