You Need Omenana to understand Biblical Israel

Recently I had to tell people that I don't see any kind of evidence behind: Israelites were Canaanites. I wasn't presented with any that would make me to think that what the Book of Genesis says about both groups should be discarded.
Also importantly, the Bible is not about stories of long dead people to me & people like me. If I feel challenged about certain aspects of life: like the one Saul faced before he became king, I would do exactly what he did: go to a dibia. Igbos largely still live in the culture of the Bible, & we know Canaanite, Egyptian, Idumean, ancient Arab etc cultures, not because we read about them but because they are our neighbors in Nigeria. Archaeologists should continue striving to understand ancient Israel, but when they want to really understand it they will begin to study Omenana.
