THE IGBO AND THE DEAD BODY

Image
By Francis Diri The sight of a dead body is ABHORRENT to the Igbo. As a child in Igbo land, I witnessed that people just wanted to bury the dead as QUICKLY as possible POST-MORTEM. There was no desire to see the corpse and observe it in-State and of course carrying it in a convoy and dancing to 'CELEBRATE LIFE' was totally off the mark. But igbos have a terrible habit of wanting to be like their neighbours who have no desire to be LIKE THEM. Even this is recorded in the scripture Ezekiel 20:32 "and that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all; in that ye say: We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone." Tanakh Bible https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tanakh.bible Elohim says He will NOT allow you to be like the NATIONS, like the families that serve wood (Cross/Christianity) and Stone (Kaaba/Islam). Igbos will be SOLID again when they QUIT wanting to be like OTHERS!!!!!!

How Britain decapitated Igbo leadership.

Image
By Francis Duru Before the Europeans came to what later became Nigeria, Igbo communities were run by Elders. The British decapitated this system which relied on Omenala and replaced it with their own WARRANT Chiefs who were mainly people of questionable and dubious character. In Lagos for example they removed Oba Kosoko and replaced him with his nephew and up North wherever they removed an Emir they replaced him with another Emir. So Igbo land under the British suffered the biggest CULTURE  shock and Dislocation. They systematically dismantled Omenala haven been apprised by their Anthropologists that it is the SOURCE of strength of the people.  Reason today many Igbos LOOK DOWN on it, not knowing that Omenala is summarized in the so called 'old testament' of the Bible they carry. But Yorubas and OTHERS very wisely cling tenaciously to their culture. Let Igbos take a critical look at Igbo land before the advent of Europeans. It reminds you of the time of the JUDGES ...

What Igbo don't want to hear but must hear to live as a people.

Image
By Remy Ilona When Nigeria banned the teaching of history in schools it helped my people to forget a past most of us don't want to confront, because people who hated Igbos lied/lie to Igbos that their past-they mean their way of life, was ugly.  Fed with this lie from church and school, the average Igbo doesn't think about and believe what he sees: that Omenana is the most advanced culture humanity has produced. With it you had zero destitutes and prostitutes. Zero unemployment. Almost zero crime. When I was a lad (after the people had practically faded) & in school at Enugu, a man stole an animal in a town close to IMT, Enugu. Apart from his being paraded while carrying the stolen animal on his head, he was ostracized. That's the authentic Igbo order. In the Omenana world people will shun his family for marriage. These deterring traditions kept the Igbo world free of crimes. After Igbos had decided to ditch and dump history & Omenana, someone as a gover...

"spareparts trading" is comparable to "open grazing"

Image
By Remy Ilona Unfortunately our people will not really think about this. But for the few who'll bother to think, we'll continue to stir the pot. Igbos are not really wanted in many places they go, and resettle. The spare-parts seller is actually seen as a nuisance, more than many see the herder who destroys farms and more. Igbo leaders, and most of the people they are leading, are more interested in "ego projects" than in making the lives of the average Igbo better. I confirmed this when when I said that if Igbo leaders had not blocked themselves from fellow Igbos, I'd have told Mr. Obiano, and [Mr. Umahi] that your airports are good, but not what Igbos need now. Obiano the 76billion naira you spent on an airport that will generate less than 1000 jobs, that less than 2000 persons will use yearly, would have been used to bring back to Igboland 50,000 Igbos who sell spare-parts in places Igbos are not seen as friends, and used to re-establish them as ...

How Igbo turn selves into slaves of Igbo 'leaders'.

Image
By Remy Ilona Even though we are just a province of Nigeria, sundered into bits we still have agency to do some things. Let's stop mortgaging our futures for loaves of bread and cups of rice. With our egalitarian culture (abandoned) an Igbo governor, or minister, or senator ought to just be in practice a servant of Igbos. But to get loaves of bread 🥪 from them we make them gods and kings and they turn us into their slaves and non Igbos take a cue from what they see to subjugate us.

People, not culture changes

Image
By Remy Ilona From my readings 150 years ago no Igbo follows anyone, ideology, without carefully scrutinizing what you are telling them to do. European colonial officials attested that Igbos won't make good common (lower rank) soldiers, because they would ask questions. But successfully processed out of the Igbo religion & into the European religion the inquiring minds, & inquisitiveness left. So what changed are the people and not their holy religion.

ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS AND IGBOLAND SECURITY

Image
By Remy Ilona If you have no plan for watertight security in Igboland and you have no plan to bring back millions of Igbos toiling in foreign lands to Igboland you have no business contesting for governorship of Anambra. And we should be interested in knowing how well you have done in community level. Have you served in town union? The great Chinua Achebe didn't think it was condescending to serve Ogidi as town union president after contesting for vice presidency of Nigeria. Igbos we get poor (mis) representation because we are not serious. People who follow politicians only do so for what they will eat today not knowing that we can build Igbos into a Singapore and no one would have to go fawning before a politician again for patronage.

ANAMBRA AND ITS AIRPORT AND......

Image
By Remy Ilona Anambra State finally has her airport. Now an Anambra person who in some cases was within 30 minutes or less to an airport, through roads that are death traps, infested with all kinds of danger, has an additional one. Yes, we have an additional airport so let's be happy, but also let us remember that one of the things that make Malaysia a developed country, is a Malay can never go hungry, because food is very cheap. Hopefully food hunger will be a thing of the past in Igboland in 2080. Unfortunately Igbo leaders like other "successful" Igbos put up iron/steel barriers between themselves and fellow Igbos-otherwise I'd have told Mr. Obiano that Anambra would have been better off investing the money spent building an airport on 50,000 Igbo youths who'll go into farming in all the LGAs, producing beef (efi Igbo), chicken, mutton, and plant based foods. And beefing up security in the state. Let's bear this in mind when we begin to think th...

Omenana is the first Igbo defence against Trouble.

Image
By Remy Ilona The Igbo first defense against trouble of all kinds is Omenana which is the only instrument that can keep Igbos connected to CHI UKWU & fellow Igbos. My people what is our connection to Omenana today? Professor Abimbola Davis, an erudite Yoruba professor proudly swore by Ogun as a presidential advisor. Before Omenana Defenders came up and began its salvific (redeeming) mission among us it was only Dr. Dozie Ikedife, among all Igbo 'elites' that'll have the courage to say publicly that he's  onye ogo Mmuo (worshipper of CHI UKWU bu Mmuo). My people this is primary one work. You must do primary one before you do law or medical school. Our problem is wanting to go to the 🌝 moon even as we don't remember our grandfathers names.

IGBO NATION and JEWISH NATION: ONE FATE DIFFERENT OUTCOMES

Image
By Remy Ilona Igbo nation's light has dimmed because the Igbo nation has tried to be like its neighbors.  The Jewish nation's light has blazed because both as a nation among the nations, & in its state, the nation has tried to remain true to its culture. If Jews are trying to be like others there won't be a Jewish state today. Lesson? Igbos must first go back to the drawing board & begin to search for their culture they agreed to discard.  I have to write this after seeing many Igbos demonstrating that they are not aware that they come from a peculiar nation. Every nation is peculiar. The Fulani isn't trying to be like the Igbo. The Ijaw isn't trying. The first assignment for me and you & all Igbos is to go, become calm and think about the wise saying "oke solu ngwere daa mmiri, okoo ngwere, oyaho ako oke.'
