Leopard isn't Agu but the Igbo bible translation brought the confusion 

Growing up we learn that 
Lion is Agu
Lioness is Odum 

Odum dogburu agu 
Yes! 
Same with 
Ram  - Ebule
Sheep - Aturu
Ishi gbaka aturu Ebule la azu - if ram see the madness of sheep , he will withdraw from the fight.
Sheep has no horn but can head ram to death.
 
Lioness (Odum) kills lion in the battle!  

We also have eji and eji abali .....etc all in the cat family (thats for another day)

For clarity, Lion has been here in Igbo land 

Agabaidu - Lion , the father of the jungle 
Prov 30:30

Igbo eze have the answer!
