LESSONS FROM THE FIRST WORLD TO THE IGBO: Only indigenous religion guarantees development.

By Okechukwu Ononaeke
The Igbo have a lesson to learn from the first worlds. First, what are first worlds? They are countries with best living standards and living indices. They also have the least( mostly zero- hugging) emigration rates: who will want to leave a country where life is sweet? Examples of first worlds include: USA, Britain, Japan, Israel, Germany, France, Italy, The Scandinavian countries etc.
China and India are almost there but not yet . That is a story for another day.
The first world is where the Igbo have a lot to learn from.
One such lesson that the Igbo must learn from the first world is that only indigenous religion guarantees development. Foreign religions even from your best friend ruins every nation: it underdevelops and destroys all victim nations. Let's go fact digging.
Britain is powered and developed by Anglicanism( Christianity comprehensively domesticated to serve only British interests). USA is powered by American Pentecostalism( Christianity that is comprehensively domesticated to suit only American interests). Israel is powered and developed by Judaism( Israel's indigenous religion)
Japan's success story is the story of Shintoism ( Japanese indigenous religion which doesn't talk about heaven but has turned every Japanese village to heaven). Italy ( Rome) is powered by Catholicism milking resources from all over the world to develop Italy ( Rome)
What of the almost first worlds, China and India. They learnt the key lessons from the first worlds and did the same thing with similar results ( development and acceleration to first worlds). The Chinese religion is Chinese state patriotism with CPC as the Chinese god and the western world as ' devil'. India's protected state religion is Hinduism.
What therefore is the lesson for the Igbo? If you want development, if you want Ala Igbo as a first world, then you must return to Omenala, the religion of the Most High,CHI UKWU. Any other thing is wishful thinking, and the Igbo has been on it for 150 years.
